The Social Worker in the Legal Process
This course provides the practitioner with comprehensive knowledge and skills in relation to the legal and court roles of the social worker and provides opportunities for the practice of key witness skills.
Social Work and law professionals engaged in Children and Family work require a comprehensive knowledge of the legal framework and legislative context in which they practice and the confident ability to present and/or evaluate complex assessment and care planning information in court statements and formal documents. Practitioners also require an understanding of the role and skills of legal professionals, witnesses and advocates at court and need to be able to confidently manage and evaluate the witness role.
